Fostering Terp Success- University of Maryland

Fostering Terp Success (FTS) is a campuswide community of support designed to help undergraduate students with foster care experience and those facing housing insecurity thrive from their first day through graduation.
​
Â
Students are paired with a dedicated campus coach who is a trained UMD faculty or staff member who meets with them regularly, helps them navigate challenges, and builds a lasting mentoring relationship, alongside hands-on case management and access to liaisons embedded across university offices.
​
Â
FTS also offers practical workshops on financial wellness, meal prep, FAFSA, career planning, and tenant rights, plus year-round on-campus housing including during breaks and an end-of-semester stipend for students who actively participate in the program.
