Students also participate in workshops and discussion forums to build the academic, social, and professional skills they need to become empowered, self-motivated graduates.

Foster Care Youth Scholarship- Rhode Island College

Providence, RI

ABOUT

The Foster Care Youth Scholarship Program is a comprehensive scholarship program that covers tuition, fees, room and board, textbooks, and other educational materials to remove nearly all financial barriers to earning a degree.

Beyond funding, the program wraps students in year-round support, including services during summer, academic breaks, and holidays, so there's no gap in housing or support, even when campus slows down. It was established in fall 2024 as a four-year pilot in partnership with the RI Office of Postsecondary Commissioner and DCYF, reflecting a strong statewide commitment to making sure foster youth have everything they need to succeed at RIC.
