NRC-FAHE's March Webinar:
Organizational Constraints Faced by Campus Support Programs for Foster Alumni
Presenter: Rachael Dominguez, sociology Ph.D. candidate at Florida State University and the Associate for Research and Analysis with the State University of New York.
This webinar is about her study that examines how barriers (or constraints) within colleges impact the effectiveness of campus support programs for former foster care youth. Drawing on interviews with 20 program coordinators across the United States, researchers identified five interrelated constraints (i.e., limited resource allocation, immobilized information, structural disconnection, conflicting goals, and weak relationships) that reinforce one another and ultimately undermine program effectiveness.
