Share Your Experience: Two Foster Care Alumni Polls
Our friends at The National Foster Care Youth & Alumni Policy Council is inviting young adults with lived experience in foster care to share their perspectives through two short polls. Your input will help inform national policy recommendations developed by lived-experience leaders to help ensure that policy reflects what youth and families actually need.
Poll 1: Nobody Enters Foster Care the Same Way
This poll focuses on what happened before young people entered foster care. It asks about the support that may have helped, whether other options were explored, and whether young people were asked what they wanted.
Who can participate: Young Adults age 18 or older with lived experience in foster care
Time commitment: About 10–15 minutes
Incentive: Five participants will be selected at random to receive a $100 gift card
Deadline: September 13, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time
Poll 2: Transitioning Into Adulthood
The Policy Council also wants to hear from foster care alumni about their experience transitioning into adulthood. What supports made a difference? What was missing? What do you wish had been different?
Who can participate: Young Adults age 18 or older with lived experience in foster care
Time commitment: About 15 minutes
Incentive: Five participants will be selected at random to receive a $100 gift card
Deadline: September 20, 2026
